How did you get into dog training? |
I worked with Kathy Ruffell and Karen Dunlea. Kathy was doing agility and Karen was doing obedience. When I acquired Jess thought I would give it a go.

| Previous dogs achievements? |
| What disciplines have you competed in. | Agility, tried a little obedience, didn’t suit my patience levels. | |
| Which discipline is your favourite and why? |
Definitely Agility |
| Greatest feeling of achievement? |
When Jess got her 1st Challenge |
| What challenges have you had to face with the different breeds (if different) you have trained? |
Jess was never a challenge |
Current favourite breed of dog? And why? |
Huntaway, apart from the barking Jess is
so loyal and willing to please, she always picked up things very easy, she
always knows where I am but isn’t under my feet. |

What do you tell your pupils when they are facing a challenge with their training? |
As every dog is different, and each
trainer has different methods, listen to anyone who is willing to help, then
do what works best for them and their dog. |
| Who is your mentor? If anyone. |
It would have to be Dean Machen, as when I first started, I would watch him and think there was no way I could ever be that good. |
What breed will be your next dog? And why? |
Labradoodle, really cute, doesn’t shed hair, and I haven’t seen anyone else with one doing agility. |
What are your current & future goals with your dog/s? |
Jess to retire gracefully. Taya to take her place in consistency
| Best dog event you have been to? And why? |
Nothing really stands out; just enjoy catching up with people, and hoping my dogs go clear. |
